After using a wood cutting board, just wipe off with a damp cloth and dry. If you are cutting meat, wash with a mild detergent & water. Rinse and dry off with a towel immediately. Do not leave boards submersed in water or place in a dishwasher. They will absorb too much water and possibly split or warp after drying out. Occasionally re-season the wood only with Bee’s Oil or food grade mineral oil. Do not use vegetable oil, for it can turn rancid. The Bee’s Oil used on this board is a mixture of beeswax & mineral oil in the form of a paste. A free sample is provided with the purchase of each cutting board. More Bee’s Oil may be obtained from HollandBowlMill.com
Mineral OilLehmans.com. Wood is an organic material and moves with temperature and humidity. If the board does not sit totally flat on the surface you are using, it can easily be re-leveled. Remove the shorter rubber foot with a screwdriver and place a piece of paper or thin cardboard in the hole and replace the foot.
If you ever decide you want to resurface the board, sand with a vibration sander then re-season. Or contact me to make arrangements. Any questions or special requests, feel free to email or call.
